Writer Bio

Storytelling is a talent passed down through the generations in my family. It is a way of life in that the more you live, the better the story; the deeper the experience, the broader the plain to connect with readers. Just like life is about people so writing is about people - about their love, their loss, their triumphs, their failures, and their x ever after. I write to understand myself and make sense of life. I share my work in order to find others who can relate to my characters, or their lives, or the moral of the story.

Blogger is weird

I just signed in to blogger using my hotmail account, forgetting that I'm using a gmail account for this blog, and whaddya know! It opened up ye old blog! The one I just struggled my little behind off trying to get back into ages ago. Weird is weird.

Anyway, onto other things...I failed my Nano at x amount of words. I received some crushing news mid-November and it just mutilated the writing bug inside of my head. I haven't had a good idea for a story until two days ago. Despite having written another chapter for an old FF of mine, and having rewritten the beginning of my novel Shadow Legacy, that little brainspark I had a couple of days ago was a lot more familiar to the writing bug I used to know. I don't know whether it was enough to get the bug's heart beating again, because I haven't actually followed up on the brainspark, but I'm blogging again. That should stand for something, I think.

So on the writing front itself, I have this rewrite due by the 28th of February, the revision by 31st of March, and I should have query letter and synopsis drafted up and ready to send by the 6th of April. This is all estimated dates that are likely to change. February is the month of looking for a new house, March is the month we'll be moving, and April we'll be getting married. So during now and then, I have to find time to organise my wedding from overseas, pack up my home and move, amidst loads of phonecalls to change this and that and find out about things and appointments to do things, etc etc.

Boring, boring, boring. I'm sure it all sounds extremely dull. OH! But some more good news: we're expecting monkey number three to pitch up in August. I say it's a girl, he says it's a boy.....meh, we'll see. I have a knack for being right about this specific thing.

Now for some random ramblings.

Super Sevens are going on at the moment. South Africa and Fiji are playing. It sounds like we're losing. No big surprise there, I guess.
I'm having chocolate mousse pudding. It is delish.
I wanted to work on my novel tonight but it's going on 9:30pm and I'm buggered. I can't write when I'm buggered.
...Okay, I can, but I'd rather sleep.
I hate DMC4. I really truly madly deeply hate it. This is the fourth disc that's bust. For NO reason. At all.
...I'm also thinking of applying to become NT's spokeswoman. Heavens know how I've been batting for them and batting anyone talking dirt about them down into the (yep you guessed it) dirt. I wouldn't expect less from a teenager to be throwing tantrums about DmC, they're kids, it's a game, let them rant their little hearts out. What I don't get is how adults can lose their heads and act even worse than the kids. They should be that little bit more experienced in logical thinking, even when it concerns their all-time-favourite franchise. Especially considering the confident and comforting hints that were dropped in numerous interviews with NT and Capcom again and again and again.
I just don't get it.
And I'm a major Dante fan.

Still, I have to give rep to Moses for coming up with the label DINO. That was very creative and funny.

Goodnight, folks!
